Join us on a 7-day / 6 – night tour of Sardegna, Italy’s second-largest island. This region stands out with a distinctive cultural identity that sets this Mediterranean region apart from the rest of Italy and Europe. Recognised as one of the world’s Blue Zones, Sardegna’s lifestyle and cuisine contribute to the longevity and well-being of its residents. Together we will explore the rugged heart of Sardegna’s pastoral culture, to then end in the breathtaking northwest coast with clear waters and Catalan influences.

Itinerary
- Day 1 : Food tour of Mercato San Benedetto and Cooking Class in Gergei
Meals: Light Lunch, Dinner
Buongiorno fellow travellers!
Today we pick you up from your preferred accommodation in Cagliari , Sardegna’s capital city, where we will enjoy a delicious food tour of Mercato San Benedetto, the local farmer’s market.
After our visit to the market we will hop in our van/minibus and drive one hour north to the rural town of Gergei. After settling in, we will join our host and his mamma for a traditional cooking class. Sardegna has a very unique and peculiar cuisine and tonight we can learn all about it. Together we will prepare a 4 course dinner, learning ancient techniques and recipes, which we will enjoy in the beautiful garden.
- Day 2: Cheese making workshop, Nuraghe and Biodynamic Wines
Meals: Breakfast, Light Lunch, Dinner
This morning we will be guided by our host who is a mastro casaro, i.e. expert cheese maker, in making our own pecorino and ricotta cheese followed by a super tasting degustation of Sardinian cheeses.
After freshening up we will visit the only UNESCO site of Sardegna: the complex of nuraghe Su Nuraxi in Barumini (pre-historic towers). Here we will learn the history of the Nuraghe and its civilisation.
We will conclude our day with a visit at a local biodynamic Sardinian winery where we will learn everything about this interesting production method and we will salute during a three course meal.
- Day 3: Passeggiata in Mamoiada and Pane Carasau
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
This morning, we check out of our beautiful farmhouse and drive north through the rugged and stunning Sardinian mountain roads. Upon arriving in the town of Mamoiada, we will go for a nice passeggiata, i.e. stroll, and visit one of the most interesting artisan workshop to learn about Sardinian Carnevale and its tribal masks and costumes.
In the afternoon we’ll check into our boutique hotel, and after freshening up, we’ll participate in a cooking demonstration on how to make pane carasau, a traditional Sardinian flatbread. Later, we’ll enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
- Day 4: Off the beaten tracks with the shepherds
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, light dinner
Today we will partake in a guided tour of Orgosolo, a village known for its colourful murales and pastoral history. After our passeggiata in Orgosolo we will sit for the exclusive traditional long lunch with the local shepherds in a secluded location, only reachable by 4WD!
The shepherd himself will prepare our meat based lunch, the famous Sardinian porcheddu, roast piglet on the spit and pecora bollita, a sheep dish, specialty of this area. This meal is a very special welcome from the shepherd to you. Still nowadays the host kills the oldest sheep they have, they prepare it , cook it and offer it as a welcome gift to their guests. It is an ancestral sacrifice which means so so much for the Sardinian people, and it’s delicious!
We’ll end our day at our accommodation, where you can enjoy the evening at your own leisure.
- Day 5: L'Alguer! The Catalan Coastal Town
Meals: breakfast, dinner
It’s time to leave the rugged inland and head to the seaside. This morning, we will drive to the coastal town of Alghero, which has strong Spanish roots evident in its food, culture, language, and architecture.
Upon arrival, we will check into our accommodation with a sea view and have some time to rest, perhaps going for a swim at the nearby beach.
Later in the afternoon, we will meet our local guide in the town centre for a lovely sunset walk, where we will learn about the history and culture of this picturesque town. We will end the night with a delicious meal at a local restaurant, where we can try Alghero’s traditional food such as paella all’algherese.
- Day 6: Asinara Island and seafood lunch on our catamaran!

TThis morning we reach Stintino to board our private and luxurious catamaran for a half a day tour of the spectacular protected national park of the Asinara Island. We will experience beautiful crystal clear waters, a dip in the pristine Sardinian sea and will enjoy a freshly made delicious seafood lunch on-board.
Upon returning to the hotel you will have the opportunity to enjoy Alghero at your own leisure.
- Day 7: Drop Off in Alghero

We are sad but it’s time to say goodbye!
We farewell and drop you off at Alghero Airport (15 minutes drive from Alghero town centre), where you can catch a flight back to the mainland or continue your journey in Sardegna.
